CONVERTIBLE TOP MOTOR FLUID LOCATION

Question: Can someone tell me where the top motor fluid tank is. I think I might be low. My convertible only unlocks from the back and then thats it. Also I found a microswitch just danglng, its the very switch when you look behind the cover from the trunk, is that normal?

Answer: That micro-switch attaches to the trunk liner. To fill up/check the pump push the back seat down, remove the silver plate and that will expose the pump. You will be able to tell if low by looking the reservoir.

Answer: Thanks for the info. The pump was very low on oil. I filled it to spec and checked the motor and clutch. Everything seems good but the top still doesn't go down. The oil reservior foams up when the pump is on, is that normal. The back unlatches but that's as far as it goes. I'm not getting any error messages and there are no leaks anywhere. I'm totally stumped on this one. any ideas?

Solution: Double check the fins inside the motor. You will likely need to rebuild the kit.
