Head light switch

Hey guys- new 900 owner here. Love the car! It's a 1993 900S 5 speed with 188k on it.

I am sorting it out, and bought a new (OES) light switch from our host and seems to be turning the lights off and on at strange times draining the battery.

Any idea as to what it could be other than the switch?

I decided to spend the extra money and buy a OES headlight switch part (Part #8590838) for my 900 instead of the ATF part, figuring it would be better quality. However, it does not seems to not be working at all and feel cheap.

I have tired to contact the SAABSITE but they haven't returned my phone calls. I also went through their return process, but it isn't allowing me to return this part online.

What is interesting is that I went back to the order page and also to the actual part: no where does it say that this part is not returnable before you order it.

Has anyone else had the same experience? I am assuming that you all have had good experiences with the SAABSITE from what I have read. I am hoping I am contacted by them to work something out. Maybe the ATF part was sent instead?

Use the contact us form at the top of this page and choose order problem and will look into this ASAP. You could have gotten a bad or wrong switch.

Electrical components are never returnable in the auto industry for the exact reason you have now. It may not have been the switch in the first place and without a conversation to help you figure it out we would not be able to help.

The returns policy is a link in every shopping cart page we own and in the about us page as well. It has been there for over 20 years.

I do understand why electrical parts are non returnable, and I am sure we can resolve this.

I did not try to contact you through the "order problem", sorry. I tried going through the automated "return a part" and hit a dead end. I am a newbie here at the SAABsite and am learning my way around.
