I have a 2001 93 that has an oil leak. It appears to be coming from a bolt on the firewall side of the head. It is very close to the serpentine belt. It apears to be a large bolt (like a sending unit) with a spacer and then about a 10mm bolt in that. I have pictures that I could e-mail if you think you can help me. My email address is sonchaser65@gmail.com Thanks for any help!

I would bet it is a timing cover or a valve cover gasket

Timing cover maybe, not leaking from valve cover. What is involved in getting the timing cover off and a new gasket on?

Sounds like the timing belt tensioner. There is a rubber o ring behind it. I had the same problem a while back. Just pull it out. Take it to napa for the correct size. To remove the tensioner make sure you take the bolt on top off first. There will be a spring in there. Also it is a good way to gauge chain stretch. I cant remember the measurements but you should be able to find it in the forums.

It was the timing belt tensioner o-rings and the oil sending unit.
