Hi, I'm changing the alternator on my '97 900s, which seems to have a 70amp alternator, and I have a 130amp unit to replace it which is externally the same and seems to be used on many models.
Will it do any harm to fit the bigger unit, or do I need to replace like with like?
Cheers

Hi there - I am in the process of changing the alternator in my 97 900 s and was hoping you could tell me if you ended up putting the 130amp in yours. Also did you have to remove the belt tensioner to get to the second mounting bolt? I can not seem to locate how to remove upper mounting bolt.
Also - I had a 90 amp and when I ordered a used 90 amp - they actually sent me a 130amp did that work out okay for you or should I return it? Any help you could offer would be appriciated. Thanks! |
