| I checked the power at the pump I have 4 volts on one wire and nothing on the other. I am assuming the one with 4 volts is for the fuel guage. Relay tested out fine. Any guesses? |

I have been told that a bad Crankshaft Position Sensor can cause the fuel pump to stay off. I had this problem a while back, and I fixed it by replacing the relay by the foot pedals (very annoying). My problem was that the relay was indeed bad, but the new one would only sometimes fix my problem. It turned out to be a bit of broken wires, and the Crankshaft Position Sensor as well. A triple whammy.
Personally, I very much dislike the multitude of problems on Saabs that have the same symptoms. I would like to have a computer message for every component that fails, ideally.
It took me a LONG time to finally fix that no-start. |

Ryker,
What relay was it by the foot pedals, and where was the broken wire? I have had intermittant no starting problems with mine as well and can not figure it out.
Thanks |

| I am having a similar problem, but I have swapped relays and they both check good with a volt meter, this was an engine swap and it ran great before I moved it I even moved the entire tank/fuel pump assembly so the only fuel system part not off of the running car are the actual lines and the ECU. What lines/wires (where ) did you have a beak in? |

A couple of things, (alright 4 things)
1 Check rev counter when cranking...if it don't move its the crank position sensor
2 If it does move its the pump
3 The pump only runs when cranking or when the engine is running
4 Check the fuel pump fuse
My car (a Brit) doesn't have a relay or a fuel cut-off switch. It just felt like it ran out of fuel. |
