1999 95 Auto B235E.
Car drove fine, we pulled engine and tranny last weekend to change timing chains. Put engine back, pulled it out to do test drive, got 20 feet down the road and it wouldn't go any more. Will run fine when cold, when it warms up, it won't go into any gear. All are like Neutral! no, slippage, no trying or clicking or anything, just no engagement! And we are totally stumped! |

| Try moving the shifter cable when warm and see if the cable is actually moving |

Update to the post...
I went and spent some time on it on Saturday. Car will go into gear when warm, needs to be put into gear and maybe revved a little. If it does goe into gear, there is this whining sound. The car will move but it can seem to slip in and out of gear.
Any ideas? |

So now more info... today the car drove fine, a little low on power, but shifted fine until it didn't. Did not get codes, just quit shifting. Would not go into any gear, would not engage... all gears are neutral!
