I have a '99 SAAB 9-5 2.3T and when I am driving in the hot weather with the AC on, the engine temp rises, but doesn't get into the red. I have driven the vehicle in hot weather with the AC off and the engine didn't overheat. Any suggestions as to what is the source of the problem?
I am thinking that the t-stat isn't working properly. The fans work properly and there is no leaking coolant from my water pump. This all started the other day when I had my AC system recharged.

The thermostat would be the first place to start. HEATING & COOLING SYSTEM
