A Code 22 means the acc needs to be programmed. You have to take it to a saab dealer and have them program it using Tech II. Typical sign of Code 22 is the air distribution will blow fresh air out of one side and temperatured air out of the other.

I have had code 22 over to periods with my 9-5. On the first occasion I had the ACC firmware upgraded by SAAB for free as there had been an update which had not been applied to my car. The reflash solved the problem for a few days and then it returned. What has fixed the error in both occasions was replacing the car battery.
On the first occasion the battery went from working to unable to turn the engine overnight. On the second occasion I took the code 22 to mean that I should keep an eye on the battery state and sure enough when the weather turned cold the battery nearly died. I have now replace the battery again and again the code 22 has gone away. I doubt if the code 22 directly means that the battery is on its last legs but it may be possible that a low battery condition is confusing the ACC if vents and control motors are not responding quickly enough.
