Removal of the rear shock
| STEP 1 | Access the shock top by Cutting out a flap in the luggage compartment carpeting to gain access to the shocks upper mount (you can avoid having to do this by pulling the carpet back completely |
| STEP 2 | Remove the nut, washer and bushings from the upper shock |
| STEP 3 | Raise the car and remove the rear wheel |
| STEP 4 | Remove the retaining bolt in the damper's lower mounting & Lift out the rear shock |
Installation of the rear shock
| STEP 1 | Tighten the lower bolt in the rear shock lower mount to 45.8 lb ft |
| STEP 2 | Fit the bushings, washer and nut on the shock & tighten to 14.8 lb ft |
| STEP 3 | Re-install the wheel & lower the car to the floor |
| STEP 4 | Tighten the wheel bolts 78-96 lb ft for the alloy wheel & 67-78 lb ft for the steel wheel |
| STEP 5 | Press back the flap in the luggage compartment trim and restore the luggage compartment to its original condition |
