Oil Pan Removal - This is a quick guide to help you remove your oil pan on your Saab 9000
| STEP 1 | Support the engine from the top with Engine support or similiar |
| STEP 2 | Remove the right front wheel |
| STEP 3 | Remove the inner liner that allows access to the belt and the lower engine mount |
| STEP 4 | Remove the 19mm nut off the top of the lower engine mount and bracket (if equipped). Get the mount loose and just leave it sitting in the mount hole |
| STEP 5 | Jack up the engine from the top as high as possible to allow you access to the bolts for the oil pan from the bottom. The Job is much easier if you have a lift but it can be done without one. You would have to jack up the engine after loosening the lower mount by jacking on the transmission bell housing. |
| STEP 6 | Remove all the oil pan bolts and remove the oil pan. It is important to have the engine jacked up which will allow you to maneuver the pan out from the crank pulley side. Remember that in most cases there is a oil pan bolt below the crank pulley as well as two on the flywheel side. |
