CLUTCH CABLE ADJUSTMENT MANUAL CABLE |
The manually adjustable cable will require one to adjust the cable periodically as the clutch disk wears. We have found that it is a little difficult to get the lock nut tightened as the position of the adjuster is somewhat awkward with the cable in the car. One needs to use 2 short open end wrenches, and to be sure to tighten the steel lock nut against the correct plastic nut. Play with it before installing it so you understand how to do the job in the car.
Adjusting the clutch cable from above is almost impossible. If you reach in through the hole for the steering arms, it becomes easy. I simply turned the wheels to the right-most stop and then getting the two wrenches in was no problem. Removing the driver's side tire/wheel would make it even easier. |
