Removal of the Front Wheel Hub:
| STEP 1 | Raise the car. If jacks are used, the car must be supported on axle stands. |
| STEP 3 | Remove the protective cap from the wheel hub. |
| STEP 4 | Remove the center nut. |
| STEP 5 | Remove the brake line from the retaining clips.. |
| STEP 6 | Using slip-joint pliers, press the brake caliper piston back. |
| STEP 7 | Remove the brake caliper and suspend it from the springs using steel wire, clothes hanger etc. (You don't want the caliper hanging freely by the brake line.) |
| STEP 8 | Remove the rotor lock screw and remove the rotor. |
| STEP 9 | Remove the wheel sensor. |
| STEP 10 | Remove the bolt holding the wishbone ball joint to the steering swivel member. |
| STEP 11 | Pull out the ball joint journal. |
| STEP 12 | Tap out the drive shaft from the hub and lift the hub and steering swivel member from the shaft. NOTE: Be careful that the inboard universal joint does not separate. |
| STEP 13 | Remove the three hub bolts. Take off the hub and brake disc backing plate. |
Installation Instructions:
| STEP 14 | Clean the contact surfaces and install the brake shield, hub and the three bolts. Torque the bolts to 66 ft lbs. |
| STEP 15 | Install the drive shaft into the hub |
| STEP 16 | Install the center nut for the hub. The nut will help pull the drive shaft into place. NOTE: A new center hub nut should be used so it will properly lock. |
| STEP 17 | Install the ball joint to the steering swivel member. Make sure the ball joint journal shows through the attachment. Torque to 36 ft lbs. |
| STEP 18 | Install the brake rotor and locking screw. |
| STEP 19 | Install the wheel sensor. |
| STEP 20 | Install the brake caliper and bolts. ( Its recommended that you apply some thread lock to the bolts before installing them.) Torque to 103 ft lbs + 45 Deg. |
| STEP 21 | Place the brake line back into the bracket and install the retaining clips. |
| STEP 22 | Install the clip to hold the wheel speed sensor cable in place. |
| STEP 23 | Remove the center emblem on the rim and install the rim using two lug-nuts. (This is so you can tighten the center hub nut later) |
| STEP 24 | Lower the car so the wheels touch the ground. |
| STEP 25 | Tighten the center hub nut to 170 ft lbs. |
| STEP 26 | Raise the car back up and remove the wheel. Install the center emblem. |
| STEP 27 | Install the protective cap on the wheel hub. |
| STEP 28 | Install the wheel and torque to 81 ft lbs. |
| STEP 29 | Pump the brakes to take out the caliper piston slack. |
