Clutch Removal Instructions
Step 1 Remove transmission (see transmission removal section) Step 2 Install a flywheel locking tool or create one using a screw driver. (Something to keep the flywheel from turning, so you can remove the clutch assembly.) Step 3 Carefully remove the screws holding the pressure plate and then remove the clutch. Step 4 Inspect the flywheel surface for damage and scoring. If the flywheel just has minor discoloring and hairline cracks, there is no reason to be concerned. If its in really bad condition you should consider getting it re-surfaced or replaced. Step 5 Now check the pressure plate for damage such as cracks or uneven splines. It should be replaced if you see any of these signs. Select clutch kits will include a new pressure plate! Step 6 Check the release bearing for noise and damage, replace if necessary.
