Question: The soft top movement has been very sluggish since I purchased the car (a month or so ago), but usually stopping and restarting would end in successful raising or lowering of the top. Then I would have to "help" raise the top as someone else engaged the engine. Now the top is stuck completely in the down position and I cannot for the life of me unlatch the soft top cover to manually raise the roof. I have read and read online, finding info for 2000 model years but the images for unlocking the latch for the cover to manually raise don't look anything like what's in my car. Keep getting Check Soft Top Cover messages as well but I have no earthly idea what I'm checking for! Stuck? Yep. Help! Praying it doesn't rain, Kate
Answer: Look in the trunk on the right rear pull carpet down you will see the main motor for the top there you will see a slot where you can stick a small handle in it and move the motor that will release the latches
