Exhaust Header Pipe Replacement

STEP 1

Raise the car.

STEP 2

Remove the lower engine cover.

STEP 3

Cut the front pipe between the down-pipe and the muffler 87 mm from the front edge of the front muffler. Cut the pipe at a right angle.

STEP 4

Undo the nuts to the catalytic converter and remove the front pipe.

STEP 5

Clean the joint on the connecting pipe.

STEP 6

Install the joint clamp.

STEP 7

Fit the front pipe to the catalytic converter with a new gasket and new nuts. Torque to 18.5 ft lbs

STEP 8

Change the rubber hangers if necessary.

STEP 9

Adjust the joint clamp so that the pipe ends are in the middle of the clamp. Tighten the joint clamp nuts. Torque to 30 ft lbs.

STEP 10

Install the lower engine cover.

STEP 11

Lower the car.

STEP 12

Start the car in a well ventilated area and check for any exhaust leaks.
