Ignition Switch Module Replacement

Removal
| STEP 1 | Ground yourself my touching the car body before starting and avoid touching the electrical pins when removing equipment |
| STEP 2 | Move the driver and passenger seats to their rearmost position |
| STEP 3 | Remove the front side pieces from the center console |
| STEP 4 | Remove the cover over the gear lever housing using saab removal tool 8293474 in the rear edge and pull back |
| STEP 5 | Remove the clamp (Auto Trans) |
| STEP 6 | Remove the cover under the handbrake by pulling it straight out |
| STEP 7 | Remove the cover on the passenger side by squeezing the cover and lifting it up. Remove the compartment under the cover |
| STEP 8 | Lift up the rubber mat in the center console storage compartment and remove the screws |
| STEP 9 | Remove the center console screws, note the screws for the plastic and aluminium are different |
| STEP 10 | Remove the sound insulation if equiped |
| STEP 11 | Press in the four catches on the sides and press down the ignition switch module |
| STEP 12 | Remove the ignition switch module by slightly lifting the center console |
| STEP 13 | Remove the connector |
| STEP 14 | Reverse process for installation. You may have to connect to a tech2 tool to clear any DTC codes |
