This page shows the steps for removing and replacing the Saab 93 Crank Sensor.
Removing the Crankshaft Sensor
| STEP 1 | Remove the battery cover and undo the negative (-) battery cable. |
| STEP 3 | Disconnect the starter motor positive (+) cable and move it to one side. |
| STEP 4 | Remove the starter motor retaining bolts and move aside the starter motor. |
| STEP 5 | Unplug the crankshaft position sensor connector. |
| STEP 6 | Remove the crankshaft position sensor. |
Installing the Crankshaft Sensor
| STEP 1 | Fit the crankshaft position sensor with a new O-ring sparingly lubricated with Vaseline. |
| STEP 2 | Plug in the connector. |
| STEP 3 | Fit the starter motor. Torque to 40 Nm (30 ft lbs). |
| STEP 4 | Connect the starter motor positive (+) cable. |
| STEP 6 | Connect the negative (-) battery cable and fit the battery cover. |
| STEP 7 | Follow connecting battery procedures. |
