NOTE: When it comes to replacing the front control arms you may want to consider replacing the complete kits as listed here. The kits contain the stanchion arms, control arms.
NOTE: 1994-1996 cars had a suspension system that system that had vibrational issues. In-order to insure part accuracy you will need to physically look at your control arms to determine if have the OLD STYLE or the new 93 style suspension. A good way to tell is that if your control arms do NOT have a sway bar bolted to them then you have the OLD STYLE arms. You would need to buy the arms that you have existing on your car. New Saab 93 style control arms have a hole for the sway bar to go into.

CODE PLATES: Click here for info on how to read the CODE Plate to determine which code you have! The spring & shock information is located on the code plate for your car. click here to determine what your codes are. You really only have to look at the code plate on the car if you are going to replace the shocks or struts with OES products. If you replace them with any other brand like boge, aft or bilsteins the codes will not matter as long as your replace both fronts or both rears at the same time.
NOTE: Shock failures can be identified by noting that the vehicle tends to bounce with no resistance. Test this by pressing on the front or rear bumper and watching how smoothly the car returns to a rested position. Shock Bushing Failures will often create a clunking noise when going over speed bumps or driving over irregular surfaces. Strut bearing mounts usually cause popping when turning at the top of the strut tower when bad.
NOTE: Front Spring replacement on cars prior to 1997 will not go by spring code you will use color of the springs that you have on your car. The color or the code will not matter during replacement as long as you replace them in pairs. The color or code is of primary concern when only replacing one spring or shock!
NOTE: Shock failures can be identified by noting that the vehicle tends to bounce with no resistance. Test this by pressing on the front or rear bumper and watching how smoothly the car returns to a rested position. One question that seems to arise is which is better the BOGE or KYB or Bilstein? We have never had complaints regarding either brand. Saab actually used the BOGE as the Original equipment. The Bilstein struts are more performance oriented.
