| NOTE: You NEED to remove the one from your vehicle to be sure you are ordering the right one. The Vin does not tell us your engine number so be sure to check yours prior to ordering! You can sometimes turn the sensor out a little bit to see the part number written on your part. The part is located in the end of the head with two wires coming off it. | |||||
| NOTE: The Coolant Temperature sensor changes its resistance according to the temperature of the coolant. The Signal is sent to the control module and causes the fuel mixture to adjust according to the readings. Sensor failures can often be identified by noting exceptionally high idles when first started. | |||||

| NOTE: Prior to the mid 1980's all engines used gaskets between the block and the engine covers etc... but as technology advanced and the fitments began to have closer tolerances engine designers began to use sealant instead of gaskets. The sealants we recommend for assembling engines, timing covers, areas of valve covers, etc.... is anaerobic sealant. When the oxygen is taken away from the sealant it begins to seal. The most commonly used is the Loctite 518 but the gray is equally used and has a higher temp range. | ||||
