HEADLIGHT LENSE REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

[95, 93 98-03, 900 94-98]

Step 1 - Lift Hood on Vehicle to gain access to Headlamp. Lift up headlamp wiper so it rests off of the headlamp. Note in Picture 1 that I am replacing the Passenger Headlamp due to a cracked lens, but these directions are easily applied to both headlamps.

Step 2 - Using your Torx Bit, remove both screws at the top of the headlamp (referred to as the Headlamp cluster). Now remove the third screw located on the side of the headlamp with the torx bit and 3” ratchet extension. This screw will loosen the side indicator as well as the headlamp, so once removed, just hang the side indicator down on the side of the vehicle without removing wiring harness.

Step 3 - Remove the center grill by depressing the two clips that hold the grill in place. Gently squeeze the metal clip towards the plastic guide until the clip clears the lip of the grill. Lift up on one side of the grill and perform step on the other clip; once completed, lift grill free and place to the side.

Step 4 - You are now able to free the whole headlamp cluster from the body of the vehicle. Gently pulling the headlamp cluster away from the vehicle, rest the headlamp cluster on the bumper to gain access to the headlamp wiring harness. To release the wiring harness, pull the red plastic tab away from the black connector. The wiring harness should release, freeing the headlamp cluster.

Step 5 - Now it is time to replace the cracked lens. First, turn headlamp cluster upside down, and remove the wide metal clip that the wiper arm rests on. To do this, take your flat head screwdriver and gently press down on the metal tab until it can slide through the plastic channel. Remove wide metal clip and place aside. Now remove the six metal clips that secure the headlamp lens to the cluster. To do this, take your flathead screwdriver and slide it under the middle of each clip and lift up until the clip pops free. You should now be able to separate the headlamp lens from the cluster. Use your flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the lens if it appears to be stuck to the cluster.

Step 6 - Now that you’ve removed the headlamp lens, remove the old black rubber seal that follows the perimeter of the headlamp cluster face. Now take a nice clean cloth and wipe out the inside of the headlamp cluster. Don’t use paper towels or anything that can scratch the reflective coating of the inside of the headlamp cluster. Take your new rubber seal, and with the bright ‘shiny’ side facing towards you, seat the back of the rubber seal into the cluster channel ensuring proper placement

Step 7 - Seat the new headlamp lens on top of the rubber seal. Take each of the six metal clips (two on the top, two on the bottom and one on each side) and hook the glass side first, and press onto the plastic headlamp cluster lip. Each should easily snap into place. Now take the wiper arm clip and after bending the metal tab back up, slide that into the plastic channel until it snaps in place. That’s it! You’re done. Now fit the lens to the vehicle going backwards from the direction above, and you should be good to go. This is what the finished product should look like.
