Water Pump 6 Cyl. Removal/Install

Removal Instructions:
| STEP 1 | Drain the coolant and remove the reservoir cap to speed up the process. |
| STEP 2 | Remove the air cleaner and any related hoses

| STEP 3 | Release the tensioner by turning the holding screw forward w/a 15mm. (you may want to loosen the water pump pulley bolts at this point) Remove the belt from water pump pulley and slowly allow the tensioner to come to a stop.

| STEP 4 | Remove the tensioner and the steering pulley.
|
| STEP 5 | Remove the timing cover. |
| STEP 6 | Remove the water pump being careful to have a pan under the car for coolant leakage.

Installation Instructions:
| STEP 7 | Clean the sealing surfaces
|
| STEP 8 | Lubricate the O-rings with an acid-free Vaseline and fit the pump.
|
| STEP 9 | Install the timing cover.
|
| STEP 10 | Install the Water pump pulley (hold the pulley stationery and tighten the bolts).
|
| STEP 11 | Re-install the Power steering pulley and torque to 6 ft lbs.
|
| STEP 12 | Re-install the belt tensioner and torque to 30 ft lbs.
|
| STEP 13 | Release the tensioner by turning it clockwise with a 15mm wrench and refit the belt. Check to be sure that the belt is riding correctly on all pulleys and that all pulley bolts are tight.

| STEP 14 | Re-install the air cleaner and hoses
|
| STEP 15 | Make sure the radiator drain plug is tight and check for leaking coolant.
|
| STEP 16 | Bleed the cooling system by filling the reservoir and allowing the vehicle to cycle the cooling fans 3 times. After the cooling fans cycle 1 time, remove the reservoir cap (Be careful, the system could be pressurized and the coolant will be HOT!!!) and refill. Repeat this procedure 3 times. |
